The bottom deck is 3mm Okoume ply from Midwest Boat Appeal in St. Bonifacius. If you have never been there, it is definitely a great boating resource. They stock about 10 different marine plywoods, Sitka Spruce, and Mahogany. I asked why they have Sitka, and it is basically for the hydroplane and homebuilt aircraft guys. Now on to mounting hull hardware and steering.

I am interested in building the Gambit - I bought a set of plans in 2004. Are there any Gambits in the White Bear Lake area? I'd like to see one or talk to a local builder. Thx.

I am new to iceboating, I have a skeeter 45. What i am wondering is what is the minium speed that the wind can be blowing when trying to sail? I tried yesturday (the wind was about 6-8 mph) the ice was about 8" think but top was kinda slushy) with not much luck.
Any other advise would be much appreicated
Thanks

Hi All,
A few of you in the western region have the polish runner sharpener.
What size belts do you use on the polish runner sharpener?
What type of belt and grit size do you use?
Thanks,

Booze!
I recently acquired what looks to be a very old DN. It is made mostly of dimensional lumber, there is very little plywood in its construction. All the hardware is galvanized, there is no stainless. The sail is made of sailcloth with several sewn in patches. There appears to be no battens. The sail has the number 78 embroidered onto it. How can I find out who might have built DN # 78? Thanks Fred
Is this a good read and relevant to the new designs.
