"one of a kind" boat made Emil Madsen mamama@prtel.com Was sailed for the first time 12/11/04 on Lake Christina
One day on Gull Lake, in Richland, Michigan, Greg Ward noticed a DN60 that looked quite familiar to him! Not always easy to spot amidst the usual sea of DN's. Chasing the boat around for awhile (while trying to flag the sailor down) he eventually stopped. After walking up-close to the tiny yellow iceboat it became clear that this was the 1st DN that I had built over 28 years prior! Bob Crossman (present owner) and I traded boats for a few hours that day and later became regular sailing-buddies.
Update: Bob has since retired the old vessel and treated himself to a fresh Canadian-built DN. The sail is easy to spot since it sports a huge Choo-Choo train image in full-color.
Greg Ward shown here with his very 1st DN project in 1972. Then over 28 years later, Greg met Bob Crossman (the latest owner of this DN) on Gull Lake quite by accident and traded boats for a few hours, just for fun. It's a small world after all!
