Hi,

I seem to remember there was discussion about a swap meet "up north". Has anything been organized? I'd probably drive up if there was something happening.

The Sailing Specialists/Williams Bay swap-meet is Oct. 30th, and the Grand Rapids one is also supposed to happen sometime in (early?) Oct.

HULL- 2000 Composite Solutions Inc. (Jeff Kent's company in Hingham, MA) Hull material is glass over balsa. VERY STIFF. Composite Concepts (Ron Sherry) tiller. Harken 11+2 Hexaratchet. Plank attaches to carbon plate on bottom. Thru-hull mast step/bobstay.

MISSING ICEBOAT ALERT - POLAR BEAR

We have a missing iceboat alert. We need help. The missing boat is a Class C Pagel Mini Skeeter named Polar Bear. There were not a great deal of these boats manufactured so it should be easy to spot. It was last seen at the Lake Geneva Yacht Club about a week before the ISA on Lake Geneva, WI. We hope it was mistaken for another boat and someone will bring it back and get their own boat. It was placed among a few other boats that were not taken. We would just like the boat back with no questions asked. Please leave it where someone can find it.

The idea was hatched last night to hold a Twin Cities Iceboat Swap Meet sometime this coming fall, probably in October. Keep an eye on this site for an announcement.

Sunday morning Byron Tetzlaff (US-5251) and I setup our DNs on Lake Mendota at Tenney Park (on the south-east shore). After waiting around with the kite-sailors for an hour or so, we were rewarded by the wind gods around 11:00am. Initially it was just a zephyr and we could barely keep going, but the wind built pretty quickly from the south-west and we were able to sail around the southern part of the lake for most of the day.
